Flatworld Society is a punk-rock band from Edenvale. To the members of the band, music is an outlet for expression of feeling and about having fun. The band has played with local and international bands such as Tweak, Rim-3, Still Thinking, Balems Donkey, Shifty and Five Iron Frenzy. Their aim is not to compete, but rather to support every style of South African music and to reach the widest possible audience and not only those who listen to punk rock.

Punk rock band, Flatworld Society, are busy putting the final touches to their new album, ‘Be A Star’. The album has already received airplay on Tuks FM, UCT Radio and 5FM. Listen out for the singles ‘In My Room’ and ‘Be A Star’. The band is also recording a new song that is going to be featured on the new album. They are recording it at Open Room Recording Studios with Darryl Torr, who has worked with top SA bands such as Boo, Karma and Binary, to name a few.

From the 26th - 28th of April, Flatworld Society will be heading to Durban for a youth camp called "Under The Son" where they will be performing. For more information on the "Under The Son" Camp, you can e-mail Debbie Paine at randpay@xsinet.co.za .

And finally, Flatworld Society drummer Paul, is currently doing session drumming for Pet Flyz until their drummer gets back from the states.

Yes, it has been a long and wonderful break for us, but now we have come back to say we are back! We have had a nice long holiday with lots and lots of things to sort out and discuss 'bout which direction we wanna take. The new year means new plans!

First things first, we wanna start by telling you a few of our new changes, ideas and plans:

Management Team: We have a New Management Team called Drew Management. So any bookings will be connected to them.

T-Shirts: We have nearly finished selling our first batch of T-shirts. They went very quickly. We will soon have more T-shirts of the same design and more of a new design! More on that later!

Website: As you can see (if you have gone to our website recently), we have taken the old one and replaced it with an interim page. We are busy designing the new website at this very moment! It will be up very soon with new stuff including links for merchandise, new pictures of shows, new music and more!

New CD: We are releasing our music within the next 2 weeks to the guys at radio stations. So please keep an ear out. We will let you know more 'bout that when the time draws nearer.

Shows: So far we have played 2 shows this year. We played at the Purple Turtle in Benoni. We shared the stage with a few bands such as Minority, Ill Audio, and others.

We also played a show in Durban which was so awesome! Durban crowds are really one of the best crowds we have played to! Thanks to Debbie, whose house we took over, and our friends that hung with us (Ash-hole, Roxy, Kels etc). Thanx for the raddest time!
